Why we love it: Set in a lovely coastal village close to the English/Scottish border, Starling Cottage has the best of Northumberland on your doorstep. Why we love it: Bring the whole pack together at this large 19th-century home called Grove House, which has views towards the imposing Bamburgh Castle in Bamburgh. When you’re tired out from walking on the coast, you can indulge yourself at the Ocean Club, which has a 20-metre swimming pool, a spa and sauna and beauty treatments.

Why we love it: This modern beach home called Beachy Point is super stylish, with hard flooring throughout the ground floor making sweeping up sandy paws and breeze. There’s a wood burner for warming up after windswept walks; we’re sure your pup will find the best spot to doze in front of it!

What’s nearby?  Beadnell Beach, dog-friendly all year round, is around 300 metres away plus there’s lots of pubs in Beadnell that welcome four-pawed guests too.


Ravenslaw House | Alnwick

Why we love it: Close to the centre of town and only a short hop from the A1, this characterful mansion house called Ravenslaw House in Alnwick is in an ideal location for a family gathering or a friends' reunion, and for exploring the whole of Northumberland. Fire up the BBQ in the enclosed garden in the summer, or retreat inside with games, books and DVDs if the weather turns bad or play the piano for your fellow guests.
