When night falls, head upstairs to the first floor where there is an en-suite king-size bedroom with an impressive four-poster bed, as well as two further king-size bedrooms and a twin. These rooms are spacious, comfortable and pretty, with windows overlooking the garden. Make sure you schedule some time for a soak in the deep corner bathtub, ideally with your favourite oils and best book. Outside, you’ll find a charming English garden with a lawn for the dogs to enjoy and hedges for thorough sniffing.
There are plenty of things to do and see in Galmpton. Take a walk to Berry Head Lighthouse (4.5 miles) where you’ll find a cafe which welcomes four-legged friends, and you may be able to see wild whales and dolphins. Explore Elberry Cove (2 miles), with the ruined bathhouse and dog-friendly beach, then finish off the trip with a day in Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, 7.5 miles. There are guided tours, yoga classes in the caves, beautiful gardens and a visitor centre. Dogs are invited to the gardens and centre.
