Just metres from Hythe Beach in a quiet location, this stylish, contemporary property is close to everything in the town. It has an enclosed courtyard – ideal for furry family members – and makes the perfect home from home for a couple, group, or family to have a wonderfully relaxing break.
The cottage is cosy and comfortable and has been beautifully furnished. It features stunning pieces of handmade fused glass made by the owner, a local artist. There are two good-sized bedrooms – both with pretty, ornamental fireplaces, hanging space and glimpses of the sea. Relax inside in the elegant lounge, with a wood burner-effect electric fire and a Smart TV/DVD, or head out to the enclosed courtyard with a cup of coffee to relax outside while your pup chases his tail.
Hythe Beach is just over 150 metres from the house where there’s a roughly a 2-mile-long promenade at the back of the (mostly shingle) beach with places to buy ice creams, drinks, and snacks along the way. Unlike many British seaside towns, there’s no amusement arcade here, it’s a quiet place to wander and relax. It’s also a great for water sports, including sailing, surfing, and windsurfing. Hythe has a plethora of parks and cosy pubs to explore, and there are excellent walks along the Royal Military Canal, which dates back to Napoleonic times, with 28 miles of walking and cycle routes. Book a trip on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, great fun for all ages and canines too. It leaves from Hythe station and terminates at Dungeness, where there’s one of the largest expanses of shingle in the world and it’s classified as Britain’s only desert. The coastal towns of Sandgate (3 miles) and Folkestone (4.5 miles) are both nearby and have sandy beaches.
