With gorgeous views, a hot tub and a wood burner, this luxurious converted barn just outside Staithes has everything you need for a special getaway with family or friends, plus two canine companions. The property is spacious and features a fabulous blend of original features and modern amenities.
Step into the vaulted living space, warmed by underfloor heating, and you’ll immediately be impressed. At one end, large sofas, a wood burner and a Smart TV, flooded with light from floor-to-ceiling glazed doors; in the centre, a farmhouse-style dining table and a large kitchen island; opposite, the fabulous kitchen with all mod cons. On this floor, there’s also a snug (down four steps), with a TV and table football, plus a shower room, utility room and two king-size bedrooms, each with wooden sleigh beds and en-suite shower rooms. Head upstairs and, across the galleried walkway above the lounge, you’ll come to two further king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite bathroom. The two outside spaces are just as stunning: a flagstone courtyard with wooden armchairs around a fire pit, and a decked area with an eight-person hot tub, picnic table and more seating with coastal views.
Set close to the sea amid beautiful farmland, this glamorous cottage is right on the Cleveland Way, a National Trust walk that follows the coast from Saltburn to Filey. The 1.5-mile path to Staithes runs right from your gate, and you could continue on to Runswick Bay (3 miles in total), where there’s a dog-friendly, sandy beach for your pups to chase their tails. Head to Saltburn by the Sea (8 miles) for fabulous fish and chips and a funicular lift, and Whitby, 12 miles, for traditional seaside amenities as well as the atmospheric ruined abbey.
