This fascinating town is steeped in seafaring history and makes for an interesting afternoon potter. Pack a picnic and a bone and spend a relaxing day at Walton-on-the-Naze. The pup can charge around on the large dog-friendly section of the sandy beach, before joining you for a wild and windy jaunt around the headland, where there are 300 acres of grassland and saltmarsh to sniff and explore.
