A modern rustic barn set in rolling countryside 5 miles from Settle, one of the most important market towns on the River Ribble. Featuring spacious living areas, two en-suite double bedrooms and a large enclosed lawn, the barn is well-suited to families or small groups, with plenty of room for two dogs.
Surrounded by fells and an endless patchwork of farmland, this two-storey barn conversion has been brought right up to date without losing any of its original character. The lounge retains its exposed wooden ceiling beams and original fireplace, while the open-plan kitchen/ diner boasts exposed stone walls and its original flooring. Two spacious and beautifully-appointed en-suite double bedrooms on the first floor await weary travellers at the day’s end, with both enjoying scenic country views from their respective window seats. There is plenty of room on the lawn in the enclosed garden for the children and dogs to run around while the adults relax on the patio, either during an alfresco supper or a soak in the hot tub.
The cottage is surrounded by umpteen walking and cycling routes, while the views from the top of Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough (all within 13.5 miles) are well worth the effort. Ingleton (6 miles) is a popular base for those attempting to climb each of these three peaks in a single day and, like other nearby market towns, including Settle (5 miles) and Kirkby Lonsdale (12 miles), is home to welcoming shops and dog-friendly pubs and cafes. For something a little farther afield, the Lake District (22 miles) has its own range of iconic peaks, lakes and small communities that welcome canine customers.
