This superb, contemporary, rural retreat is the perfect romantic getaway for two plus a grown-up canine friend. In the quiet village of Mitchell, it’s only a few metres walk to a great dog-friendly pub and just a few miles from the vibrant seaside resort of Newquay. Boasting plenty of charm and style, it’s the perfect place to rest up between your Cornish adventures.
Imagine yourself living in the pages of an interiors magazine while staying in this fabulous, single-storey property. Brilliantly converted from a former cart store, it has high, pitched ceilings, exposed beams and lovely timber flooring, with quirky lighting and unique touches throughout. In the open-plan living space there’s heaps of room for Fido’s bed and bowls. It includes a lounge area with squashy sofas and a Smart TV, a dining table and chairs, and a kitchen with a breakfast bar and sleekly integrated appliances – including a wine cooler. The super-king-size bedroom is gorgeous, with a Smart TV and a feature wall with dramatic wallpaper, and the shower room is a beautiful space too.
Head into Newquay, 7 miles away, for a wide range of shops and places to eat and drink, plus the iconic Fistral Beach, dog-friendly all year round and a favourite of surfers (can your pup hang ten?). Try out the other beaches around Newquay, too, or walk a couple of miles along the peaceful Gannel River to the village of Crantock and back (check the tides first, though). If you feel like a change, you could take a nostalgic ride on a steam train at Lappa Valley, 3 miles away, or even head over to the south coast and explore the miles of pathways (hound on a lead) of the Lost Gardens of Heligan, 13 miles.
