Canine Critics has been running for 5 years - 5 years! - and it's been getting bigger and better every year. So, this time around we thought we'd call in reinforcements to give us a hand (or should that be paw?) in choosing our Canine Critic 2022.
We have an amazing judging panel of dog experts who have kindly agreed to help us out - they will be using their knowledge and insight to seek out a fantastic dog who will receive the sought-after role.
Read on to meet the judges and find out what they are looking for in this year's Canine Critic.
Meet the judges
Ali Taylor
Ali Taylor has been a firm friend of Canine Cottages for a long time and we are thrilled that she is giving us a hand to pick out this year's Canine Critic!
We've teamed up with Battersea in the past and Ali has even given us a run-down of what she does in her day-to-day as Head of Canine Behaviour and Training - read all about the important work she does here.
Here's what Ali Taylor had to say about Critics 2022...
"I’m delighted that our friends at Canine Cottages have invited me back on the Canine Critics judging panel this year! At Battersea, we’re proud of our non-selective intake policy which means we take in and care for any dog who needs us, regardless of breed, age, or medical condition. Canine Cottages shares a similar inclusive ethos ensuring their dog-friendly holiday cottages welcome all dogs. I’m excited to see all of the Canine Critics applicants this year, and to help choose a new mascot who will help review dog-friendly spaces across the UK."
Madeline Shaw
As Director of Proposition at Pets at Home, Madeline Shaw knows what makes our pets tick and, more importantly, she knows a thing or two about man's best friend. We're so pleased she agreed to give us a hand choosing this year's Canine Critics winner.
Check out what Madeline Shaw is looking for in this year's winner...
"I’m absolutely delighted to be on the Canine Critics judging panel on behalf of Pets at Home this year. With pets' happiness at the forefront of our minds, I’ll be looking for imagery that captures your VIPs (very important pets) thoroughly enjoying their paw-fect holiday, both in and out of the cottage – wagging tails mandatory!"
Graeme Hall
We've learnt a lot about our canine friends from watching Graeme Hall aka The Dog Father, work his magic on Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, and we're delighted he's come on board this year to help us find our 2022 Critic.
Graeme Hall can't wait to get stuck in to this year's Critic search...
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a Canine Critics judge this year. What an honour! So… what makes your pet perfect for the position? We’re looking for characterful, adventure-loving dogs of all shapes, ages and sizes. I can’t wait to hear your stories!”
Get ahead of the pack
Good luck to this year's entrants! It won't be long until our 2022 Critic and runners-up will be revealed...
