This attractive cottage is situated in the Eden Valley village of Gamblesby, on the western edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The whole area is absolutely perfect for those who enjoy getting out and about in the great outdoors with their dog.

A simply gorgeous cottage, offering stylish and spacious accommodation for six guests, this property is an attractive blend of thoughtfully-preserved original details and sympathetically updated features. The lounge is a wonderfully cosy room with a warming wood burner in the fireplace, perfect for Rover to curl up in front of while you relax on the sofa and armchairs. In the spacious kitchen, you will have a choice of a conventional oven or the traditional Range, while meals can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double and two twins, one of which comes with the added bonus of a table football set. The outside space is equally as attractive as the interior of the property, with a pretty walled garden to the rear of the cottage, offering a patio where you can catch some rays while your four-pawed pals run around the lawn.

Situated in what must be one of the most picturesque regions of Britain, the property is both right on the edge of the Pennines and only 13 miles from the Lake District. Dogs can take their owners on walks through many miles of scenic countryside across hills and along the banks of Ullswater. Alston, 10.5 miles away, provides easy access onto the Pennine Way, one of the most popular long-distance footpaths in the country. There are, of course, plenty of other outdoor pursuits on offer locally too, from climbing to pony trekking, sailing to ghyll scrambling.

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage which was a blessing because we had to spend a lot of time indoors due to the weather and sickness.

What a lovely place to stay - in a lovely village, but only 20 minutes from the motorway so easy to get to. Great base for going to the Lakes, walking in the Eden Valley or exploring nearby. Wonderful garden and well equipped cottage with wood-burner in the lounge for cosier evenings but outside space for eating and playing during the day too. GreaRead moret for kids too. Loved our stay and would happily come back. Hide

This is a nice cottage in close proximity to Penrith. The only downside to the property is that it is described as having an enclosed garden however for those with dogs, it is not. Small dogs can get under the gate. Large dogs can easily jump the small wall. We have a cockapoo who unfortunately could do both.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We travelled with a family of 4 and 2 grandparents and more than enough space. Spent most of the time exploring the Lake District, which was within easy reach. Garden was lovely to sit out in the evening and let the dogs run around.

Authentic-feeling cottage with main lookout onto back garden, although kitchen & living-room have outlook to the village Green. Good kitchen and bathroom. Very quiet village (pub & and Bakery in next village along) but within 45 minutes of Lake District walks.
