Situated in Clovelly, on the rugged North Devon Coast, this beautiful wooden lodge is perfect for the entire family and up to two four-legged friends. Sleeping four across a double and bunk room (made up of a single top bunk with double bottom) and set in a wildlife haven, excited eyes will spot rabbits and pheasants roaming freely. Watch kingfishers dip into the tranquil fishing lakes as you dine al fresco in the sunshine. It will be bucket and spades ahoy as you paw-foot it to the sandy beaches to enjoy the sun and a tasty ice cream.
Close to the water, this gorgeous property is accessed up three shallow steps or ramp to a private enclosed veranda; this safe space is ideal for pups to have fresh air without the worry of them taking a lakeside dip. Spacious and comfortable, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner creates a welcoming social space for all the family to gather over breakfast and plan the day’s activities. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to feed hungry mouths and an inviting corner sofa allows for lazy evenings watching a film while your happy hounds catch up on some snooze time.
Further afield, travel into Cornwall and visit the surfing beach of Bude (16 miles), there are plenty of surf hire shops so there is no excuse not to take a dip. Dogs are welcomed all year round on the town beach at Summerleaze, however during the summer season, some of the busier beaches require pups on leads during the lifeguard duty hours of 10-6pm. Visit the picturesque and historic fishing village of Clovelly (3 miles), the perfect place to sniff out and sample a freshly caught crab sandwich but steep cobbled streets mean you must remember sensible shoes and leads for pups.
