This is the peaceful retreat your four-legged friends would choose to book; a stylish, comfortable cottage for two humans with a cosy wood burner, an enclosed garden (with garden furniture, a BBQ, and a wood-fired pizza oven), an outdoor doggy shower, and a canine exercise paddock. It’s on the Cornwall/Devon border, with gorgeous walks from the door and a traditional pub nearby.
The single-storey property is next to the owner’s home and features attractive wood panelling, exposed beams, and seaside prints. Go into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, bright and light with big windows. It has a wood burner, a Smart TV and DVD, comfy seating and a dining table and chairs for two next to the French doors. The kitchen is a good size with everything you need to prepare delicious meals. The double bedroom is light and spacious, with a TV, and a contemporary en-suite shower room. Heading outside, there’s an enclosed garden where the pups can potter on the lawn, a patio with sun loungers, and a table and chairs for al fresco dining. There’s also a BBQ, a wood-fired pizza oven, an outdoor dog shower and a shared paddock where the pups can let off steam.
Head out from the front door, walk across the fields and through the woods to the National Trust property of Cotehele (less than 1 mile). Go for pretty walks in the Tamar Valley, which has World Heritage status, and Dartmoor National Park. Visit Tavistock (6.5 miles) where you’ll find a great range of restaurants, pubs, and shops, as well as a cinema and a swimming pool. Both the north and south coasts are within reach, with the nearest beach just 15 miles away. After a fun day out, head to the local pub for a warm welcome, live music, food and drinks.
