Beautiful one bedroom cottage in the most tranquil setting on the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion borders. Explore nearby Cardigan and the coast and return home to relax and unwind in this superbly presented holiday cottage.
This cosy converted barn is a fabulous couple’s getaway, equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing stay in this peaceful farm location close to Cardigan and the coast. There are great walks nearby, and afterwards you can enjoy the views from your deck or (in the summer) take some drinks over to the on-site ‘pub’.
Drive up the long, single-track, country lane (which may not be ideal for low-wheel-based vehicles) to reach this charming stone cottage, which has an ‘upside-down’ design to make the most of its lovely views. Enter the beautifully fitted kitchen/diner, nicely equipped for creating delicious meals for two. Next door is a shower room and along the hallway you’ll find the king-size bedroom, a calm space designed with muted tones. Head up the stairs to the lounge, where you’ll be drawn to the Juliet balcony overlooking the scenic countryside. This room also has a more formal dining table and chairs, and comfortable sofas around a wood-burner-effect electric fire and Smart TV. Lounge in the sun on the private decking outside or head to the seating at the front of the cottage for spectacular views. For a convivial evening, why not try the shared bar area, where you can take your own drinks, try out the pizza oven, and make friends with guests from the neighbouring holiday homes.
The village of Cilgerran, overlooked by the ruins of a 12th century castle, has a shop, cafe and two pubs. Pop into the specialist dog food suppliers for some treats before setting out for a walk to the Welsh Wildlife Centre, where the Teifi marshes are home to varied flora and fauna. Cardigan, 4 miles, has a range of shops and places to eat and drink or, for a beach day, Poppit Sands is just 6 miles.
