This is a romantic retreat for you and your canine companion in an idyllic setting in the heart of the Cotswolds with pretty towns, villages, and countryside nearby. This stunning cottage is on the National Trust’s Sherborne estate next to Sherborne Park, and it’s all on one level once you’re inside. It has an amazing garden – a mown path leads you through the woods to a seating area among the wilderness next to a meandering brook, and there’s a terrace at the front too where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful setting. Dogs will be in heaven!
Mature shrubs and pretty planting frame the Grade II-listed building. You can relax outside in the secluded spot by the brook or fire up the BBQ for dinner al fresco. Inside, the property is simply gorgeous with a double height ceiling in the open plan living/dining room/kitchen with huge doors which open up fully to let the sunshine flood in, deep comfy sofas, original brickwork and a cosy wood burner. The spacious bedroom has a super-king bed and a door outside. There’s also a large en-suite with a bath and shower. The cottage is also step free except for three steps up to the front door.
Head out with your four-legged friend on one of the signed walking trails in Sherborne Park Estate. Your canine companion is also welcome to join you on a wander around Cotswold Lavender (15 miles away) where there are acres and acres of lavender being grown and you can buy fragrant gifts. Dogs are also welcome at Batsford Arboretum (15 miles away) where there are some the world’s most beautiful and rare trees. The historic town of Cirencester, ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, is 15 miles away, and Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford Upon Avon, is 29 miles away. If you fancy a day at the races, Cheltenham racecourse is just 17 miles away.
