This quirky holiday home in Pembrokeshire had a previous life as a horse lorry, and is now a cosy abode where you can spend a restorative break accompanied by your partner and pet. You’ll have a wonderful view of Angle Bay from your private deck, setting you up for romantic evenings, or special alone time if you’re a solo traveller. It’s located in the pretty village of Angle, 10 metres from Angle Point’s famous sea-facing bar and restaurant. Take your pet on paw-inspiring coastal walks and when you’re exhausted and content, settle down for a good night’s sleep in your unusual bedroom, which is located within the driver’s cabin of the original vehicle.
It’s all about the attention to detail inside this small-but-perfectly-formed home, which has carefully chosen artwork on the wall – much of it equine-related, naturally – to help you feel right at home. The living area features a cosy leather sofa and wood-burning sofa for kicking back in the evenings while your pet catches forty winks on the rug. The compact kitchen has everything you need for meal prep and a built-in table for romantic meals. A freestanding copper shower completes the inside, while the WC is separate. Outside, you’ll have a private decking area that’s ideal for delightful al fresco dinners. The accommodation can also sleep up to two more guests on request, so don’t worry if you’re in a larger group.
Locally, the 4-mile-long West Angle Bay Circular walk is a wonderful introduction to the area and passes right past your holiday home. Discover historical sites such as the Pele Tower (500 metres), a 14th-century Grade I-listed stone fortified construction, and Popton Fort (5.5 miles). When you’re thirsty, head for a drink in the dog-friendly pub in Angle 0.5 miles away. The nearby town of Pembroke (10 miles) is excellent for shopping and eating out, and its castle welcomes well-behaved dogs on leads.
