This traditional holiday let is every nature lover’s dream, with its fantastic rural location within the Peak District National Park. Doggies and humans alike will love exploring the picturesque moorlands, open countryside and miles of footpaths surrounding the stone-built cottage. With space for four humans over its two apartments, it’s ideal for a family or two couples holidaying together, with two canines also welcome. The accommodation also has the unusual addition of a yoga studio for you to use – downward dog, anyone?
The property is divided into two self-contained apartments, each with its own entrance. In the ground-floor flat, lovely colour accents and exposed stonework create a homely and welcoming ambience. The upstairs property has a clean and modern feel and includes a wood burner for keeping you and your pets warm on chilly evenings. Both apartments contain well-equipped kitchen areas for meal prep, and king-sized bedrooms. Outside, a delightful patio area overlooks the alpaca paddocks – the perfect setting for sizzling up a BBQ while sipping a glass of something expensive. Dogs are given a warm welcome here, with an enclosed exercise area available, complete with a bench for you to sit and relax alongside your furry friends. Towels, dog beds and bowls are provided, ensuring your pets feel right at home.
When it’s time to explore your environs, we recommend visiting the market town of Bakewell (9 miles), famous for its pudding and wonderful restaurants. To gain a vantage point with a view over the Derwent Valley, take a cable car ride in Matlock Bath (8.5 miles) to explore the Heights of Abraham, a hilltop park with walking trails, fossil exhibitions and a dog-friendly cafe. At Rowsley South Station (6 miles) you can board a steam train for a ride along the heritage railway, with your pets welcome free of charge.
