The market town of Builth Wells (9 miles) offers scenic walks along the River Wye and dog-friendly pubs and eateries. Hikers and climbers will be in their element amongst the Cambrian Mountains (3 miles), with the views from the likes of Pumlumon Fawr, its highest peak at 2,468ft, well worth the effort.
