Watch your delighted dog explore the beautiful garden at this Northumberland retreat when you book a romantic break for two and take him with you. Sleeping two guests, the one-bedroom, single-storey cottage nestles in the village of Belford, 5.5 miles from Bamburgh. An idyllic place to relax together, it also makes a great base for forays out to dog-friendly beaches, as well as coastal walks and hikes through the Northumberland National Park.
Let yourselves in to find the retreat offers open-plan living with ample space for pups to pad about. The main lounge/kitchen/diner has doors that can be opened on to the pretty garden. There is also space to watch TV, prepare food in the kitchen, which is one step up from the rest of the living space, and to sit down to romantic meals at the dining table. At the end of each fun-filled day, make your way through to the double bedroom for a good night’s sleep. Open the French doors in here on summer mornings to bring in a breeze. Enjoy a hot shower before taking your happy hound out to nose about in the leafy garden while you have breakfast in the sunshine. Keep an eye on him near the pond. Guests will be given a permit for on-street parking.
Find plenty of walks to beauty spots and historic sites in your surroundings. St Cuthbert’s Cave, a sandstone cave where the saint is said to have lived as a hermit, is 6.5 miles from the cottage. Head to Bamburgh to explore the castle grounds with your furry friend and to let him bound free any time across the open beach here. Follow the Northumberland Coast Path from here for 3 miles to reach Seahouses. Venture 9.5 miles to reach Northumberland National Park, with its many footpaths.
