This idyllic retreat is in the rural village of Hepworth, close to the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The property sleeps four guests and two woofers, and suits couples and families with older children. The historic town of Bury St Edmunds, with its fabulous array of paw-friendly eateries and public parks, is just 13 miles away. In the evenings, relax in the bubbling hot tub overlooking the water.
The single-storey, waterside property is bright and airy, and effortlessly blends contemporary design with original features. An entrance hall, where you can store outdoor gear, welcomes you into the holiday home. From here, move through to the sociable lounge/kitchen/diner, with its cosy wood burner and far-reaching countryside views. This is the perfect place to unwind after a long dog walk, trying out recipes in the sleek, well-equipped kitchen area, sharing meals at the breakfast bar or dining table, and enjoying movie nights around the Smart TV. The property has two fabulous bedrooms, a super-king-size room with an en-suite shower room, and a sumptuous king-size bedroom, served by the chic family bathroom. Outside, soak up the sunshine on the decked terrace, dining alfresco or reviving weary limbs in the bubbling hot tub.
The picturesque town of Bury St Edmunds is extremely dog friendly, and you’ll notice that many of the shops and eateries display a sticker to indicate that they welcome four-pawed visitors. After a potter around the town centre, be sure to check out the beautiful Abbey Gardens. Here, you and your furry sidekicks can explore the immaculate themed gardens, followed by refreshments in the woof-welcoming cafe. Other doggy days out include Nowton Park (14 miles), with over 200 acres to sniff and explore, and the stunning parklands and woodlands at Ickworth National Trust (18 miles).
