Part of a distinctive building, the flat offers flexible accommodation that can fit up to four people and a much-loved dog. The lofty vantage point means that sea views are possible from the property, while its pretty courtyard garden adds to the property’s quirky charm. Dogs will love the window in the lounge for people watching and looking longingly at the beach opposite.
Inside, the split-level apartment has a double bedroom on the first floor in addition to an en-suite shower room. The second floor has an additional bathroom with its own Jacuzzi-style bath – ideal for indulging in a glass of bubbles or simply kicking back to relax. The lounge can be a bright room thanks to that bay window with sea views of Whitby Abbey. The sofa can also turn into a bed should guests need. The kitchen/diner is a spacious room with its own gas-fired Aga. Dogs are usually found curled up next to it in the winter months. From the kitchen/diner there are French doors which lead out to the patio.
The property is in the coastal village of Sandsend. It’s possible to walk all the way to Whitby along the beach, which is about a 2-mile distance. The beach is spectacular with plenty to see and do. Dogs will enjoy paddling at the tideline or in the many streams leading to the sea, or you could head to any of the nearby woodlands or along the cliffs for a brisk walk. Sandsend is full of cafes and pubs happy to welcome guests and their dogs and there are also fantastic restaurants and an art gallery worth a trip.
