Located in the beautiful Esk Valley, this lovely stone-built cottage is the ideal retreat for two couples or a small family and their four-legged friend in the heart of rural Yorkshire. With easy access to the coast, spend your days rambling along rivers, exploring the North York Moors National Park and enjoying traditional seaside fun in the historic town of Whitby.

Step inside this delightful home and enjoy rural charm alongside modern-day comforts. The inviting living room is a cosy space to relax after a day of adventure, with exposed wooden beams overhead and plenty of comfortable seating. Cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen, then gather around the dining table to share a meal with loved ones whilst Fido snoozes next to the roaring open fire. The picturesque cottage garden wraps around the property and includes plenty of lawn space for a game of fetch and where the patio and its outdoor furniture are perfect for your morning coffee or an evening sun-downer. At the end of the day, soak tired legs in the modern family bathroom before heading to bed in one of two welcoming bedrooms with plush king-sized beds topped with pretty floral bedspreads.

Located in a national park, fantastic countryside walks to get tails wagging begin as soon as you leave the house. The River Esk runs mere metres from your door, the banks of which are full of exciting sights, sounds and smells for Rover to investigate. A regular filming location in the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’, the village pub is a 450-metre stroll away, where those with four legs are as welcome at the bar as those with two. An 8-mile drive brings you to the popular harbour town of Whitby. Head to the town''s sheltered Tate Hill Beach (0.5 miles) for year-round unrestricted beachside fun with furry friends. There are many dog-friendly cafes and pubs in Whitby too, so make sure to try the world-famous fish and chips. Don’t miss the Cleveland Way, which runs through the town, where you and your hound can strike out towards magnificent coastal cliff-top scenery for walkies to remember.

Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. Less than a minute walk to the river and stepping stones. Our dog loved playing in the river and garden. We loved our stay at the cottage.... it is so cosy and picturesque. Cottage was nice and clean, with everything we needed in the kitchen. Nice bath and shower along with a separate toilet which was useRead moreful. A great base to explore the area from. Lots of places to visit within 10-15min drive. Lovely pubs nearby. We really would have liked to stay longer and would recommend to friends. I hope we get to stay there again. The decor is alittle out dated but this was not an issue whatsoever. Hide

This cottage was a last minute replacement to our original booking due to flooding. We were very pleased with the arrangement of a new property and was able to start our holiday as planned in the area of our choice. We did compromise on having two double beds instead of a double and 2 twins but this was a minor inconvenience.

Our concerns relate to the lack of parking attached to the property. It is impossible to park outside due to narrow width of the road which meant carrying the luggage for some distance. Clearly an issue since the comments in the house book mentioned adverse reactions from local residents if the visitors parked further down the road outside theRead moreir cottages. We are surprised that this issue was not highlighted in your prospectus so visitors are forewarned. In addition the steep stone steps leading upto the cottage from the road are well worn and require great care particularly if you are carrying luggage. Hide
